Paul Colomb grew up on the Atlantic coast, between the small medieval town of Guérande and the industrial port of Saint Nazaire.

 

A decorum in the image of his daily life, which he shares between the study of chamber music and rock scenes.

 

His career took him to Nantes and then to the "Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne". He graduated in 2013, in the class of François Salque.

 

In 2019, he was awarded the Audience Prize of the Icarts Sessions, in the show Ocora couleurs du Monde on France Musique.

 

His first album, "Bleue Quintet" was released in January 2024 on the Mirare label on the occasion of the Folle Journée de Nantes. This project interweaves quintet of cellos and electronics.

 

He is part of Duo Bardy with the cellist Michèle Pierre. Their second album, "La Vie d'Après", released in 2023, presents a futuristic universe inspired by jazz and acoustic techno.

 

During the second lockdown, the Duo Bardy directed the documentary "And the cell in all this ?". It presents testimonies of cellists impacted by the health crisis. The film received a very good press and public reception and is relayed by Télérama, France Musique, Europe 1, Mediapart,...

 

Paul Colomb is a member of the trio "Elles" with Sandra Nkaké and Jî Drû, as well as the quintet of Daniel Mille with whitch he accompanies Jean-Louis Trintignant. The Trintignant / Mille / Piazzola disc received the Grand Prix of the Charles Cros Academy.

 

He performs and records alongside Diego Imbert, André Ceccarelli, Murcof, Hélène Bohy, Form, Miroirs Etendus, Tribe from the Ashes, New, the Comédie Musicale Improvisée, Mathias Duplessy, ...

 

He regularly collaborates with the Cello Orchestra of François Salque.

 

Paul Colomb performs on all four contients and teaches, notably at the Bangalore School of Music in India in 2012.

 

He regularly intervenes alongside the Concert de Poche and the Ponton des Arts, association of which he is artistic co-director, with "prevented" audiences : EHPAD, penitentiary centers, psychiatric hospitals, schools, centers of asylum seekers,...
